Russia is currently trying to invade Ukraine. This war of another era is at the origin of important human losses and considerable material damage. The country’s activity is strongly impacted and civilians are fleeing conflict zones.
Ukraine hosts many game developers. For obvious security reasons GSC Game World has suspended the development of STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl. This title was until now expected for the month of December 2022. Its future is now uncertain.
In a recent video posted on the developer’s YouTube channel, the team states that development of STALKER 2 has been shelved. GSC Game World’s priority is to ensure that its developers are safe during this invasion. It is possible that the development of STALKER 2 will resume but we have no date and no timetable.
This title is the sequel to the first part launched in 2007. The game promises an adventure in the Chernobyl exclusion zone where dangerous enemies, strange anomalies and powerful artifacts lurk. The game is currently available for pre-order, starting at $59.99 on Steam, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store.
