War in Ukraine: Sean Penn joined Poland by marching


AAccompanied by his fellow filmmakers, Sean Penn made his way to Poland on foot, like thousands of Ukrainian citizens and foreigners trapped in the war. Thursday, March 3, the CNN television channel shared the details of this expedition, revealed by the director ofInto the Wild in person from his Twitter page.

“Myself and two colleagues drove miles to the Polish border after leaving our car on the side of the road. Almost all the cars in this photo are carrying only women and children, most with no visible luggage, and their car is their only valuable asset,” the actor captioned a snap showing him pulling a suitcase in the middle of a long line of cars. Since then, a representative of the Hollywood star has confirmed that he had succeeded in leaving the country coveted by Vladimir Putin.

A documentary filmed with the approval of Zelensky

The actor and activist went to Ukraine for the first time last November, with the aim of meeting members of the national army in the Donetsk region, with the agreement of President Volodymyr Zelensky. The launch of the Russian offensive, on February 24, had decided Sean Penn to return to the scene to shoot the sequel to his documentary at the heart of the conflict. “Sean Penn is showing a courage that is missed by many, especially Western politicians,” Volodymyr Zelensky said on Facebook.
