A Russian journalist was killed Wednesday in a bombardment on kyiv, announced in the evening the independent online media for which she worked, The Insider.
Oksana Baulina was killed by a rocket while she was filming the damage caused by a previous strike on a shopping center in the Podil district, in the northwest of the Ukrainian capital, according to a press release from her newspaper. Another civilian was killed and two people accompanying the journalist were injured.
Before joining The Insider, Ms Baulina was a producer for an anti-corruption foundation in her country. The latter having been classified as an “extremist organization” by the authorities, the journalist had to leave Russia and continued to work for The Insider on the theme of corruption.
She had gone to Ukraine as a correspondent, where she had made several subjects in kyiv and Lviv (west), still according to her media, which expressed her “deep condolences” to her family and friends.
