The United Nations General Assembly on Thursday adopted a resolution calling for a “comprehensive and lasting” peace in the country which has been the site of armed conflict and reaffirming its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Ukraine.
The said resolution stipulates the “immediate” withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine and calls on member states to deploy more diplomatic efforts to establish a “comprehensive, just and lasting” peace in Ukraine, in accordance with international law and the Charter. United Nations.
The resolution demands that the Russian Federation “immediately, completely and unconditionally withdraw all its military forces from Ukrainian territory within the country’s internationally recognized borders”.
