War in Ukraine: Kyrylo Boudanov, the man who planned the Russian invasion

War in Ukraine: an EU-Ukraine summit will be held on Friday in kyiv, a “strong signal” sent to Moscow

He explains to Washington Post that he was even almost afraid that it wouldn’t happen and that the future of the country depended on it. Since then, the soldier has been able to analyze Russia’s military strategies.

Russia still aggressive in 2023

For Budanov, Russia will always want to conquer territories aggressively, especially in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. There will not be, always according to him, a new offensive which would come from the north. He explains that this is an attempt to divert and divide Ukrainian troops.

He hopes his country, Ukraine, will reclaim Crimea, which Russia claims and has annexed since 2014.

Finally, his opinion on Vladimir Putin and his use of nuclear weapons is clear: “It’s a deterrent tactic. Russia is a country from which you can expect a lot, but not outright idiocy. A nuclear attack will not only result in a military defeat for Russia, but also in the collapse of the country. And they know it very well”.
