“There is always a risk with this kind of gesture, but Putin will not stop so he will have an escalation of measures anyway, why not do it right away. The President of Ukraine is asking for an exclusion zone above Ukraine, we support him 100% in his request,” explains Michael Shwec, president of the Quebec provincial council of the Canadian Ukrainian Congress.
A claim from Kyiv that NATO is currently brushing aside. In the short term, it does not seem to be in the cards.
“Failing to send fighter planes, helicopters, drones to Ukraine so that Ukraine can impose this no-fly zone,” explains Eugène Czolij, honorary consul of Ukraine in Montreal.
