War in Ukraine: controversy over sending Leopard 2 tanks to the front lines

Poland’s prime minister will ask Berlin for permission to deliver 14 German-made Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The Polish president, however, said he is willing to supply the tanks without reaching an agreement with Germany.

The German Foreign Minister stated that Germany it will not oppose Poland’s willingness to supply these armored vehicles if Warsaw requests authorization. However, he said that the final decision belongs to Chancellor Olaf Scholz, which until now has not agreed to indirect deliveries.

For his part, Latvia announced that it decided to cut the level of its diplomatic relations with Russia and asked his ambassador to leave his country hours following Estonia made the same decision in solidarity with Ukraine.
