The Congolese government disappoints the primary sovereign in resolving the war in the east of the country by taking a position of denunciation instead of concrete actions on the ground as the population would like. The people made this known via frustration on social networks following the photos of the council of ministers this Friday, February 9, which went viral on social networks.
For the people, the Congolese government has an arm long and strong enough to carry out large-scale acts, but agrees to reduce itself to the level of a simple pressure group. Men, women and children desperately want an effective solution to be found in the coming hours; solution which will end the war and give all layers of Congolese society a pleasant land to live in.
“How can men in power pose like subhumans? This is unacceptable,” wrote one user. For others, “The nation is led by men on whom we cannot count.”
Note that the government continues to increase efforts to achieve a resolution of the conflict, however these efforts remain highly criticized by the primary sovereign who notes a lack of realism.
