The young man came to the aid of women who were allegedly being harassed by a group of teenagers, police said on Monday. They reacted extremely aggressively and attacked the 21-year-old. They chased him and one of the group stabbed him.
The young man suffered cuts and stab wounds to his back and thigh. Due to the serious wound on the foot, the police had to apply a so-called tourniquet to stop the blood flow. After receiving emergency medical care from the Vienna professional rescue service, the 21-year-old was taken to hospital. There was no danger to life.
Attempted murder
The investigation into attempted murder is ongoing. According to initial findings, the 21-year-old simply wanted to clarify the situation and confronted the young men. As Defense Ministry spokesman Michael Bauer announced on X (Twitter) on Monday, the victim was a military servant.
