Despite a presentation expected in mid-September, the iPhone 15 Pro Max may not be delivered until October, according to some analysts. Apple would indeed suffer from slower-than-expected production for its top-of-the-range model.

If you want to buy an iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra), be prepared to wait longer than other models. This is what we learn this week from 9to5Mac, which brings us the forecasts of an analyst and an anonymous source visibly close to the file. According to information gleaned by the specialized media, Apple would not be able to market its most high-end iPhone at the same time as the others, due to a supply problem anticipated on an exclusive part. to this new “Pro Max” model.
Clearly, the announcement of the new iPhone 15 and 15 Pro should take place on September 12, and their launch would take place soon following… but the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it might not begin to be distributed until october.
This potential staggered launch would however be far from being a first in the history, even recent, of Apple. In the past, the iPhone XR had for example been marketed several weeks following the iPhone XS. Same thing last year for the iPhone 14 Plus, distributed following the “classic” iPhone 14s.
iPhone 15 Pro Max: towards a staggered launch… because of its periscope?
This delay would in any case be due to one of the new features of the iPhone 15 Pro Max: the addition of a better optical zoom, with a periscope lens. This novelty would pose supply problems for Apple, since Sony (its subcontractor for these parts) would not be able to provide enough of these sensors by the time the announcement is made. Consequence: the iPhone 15 Pro Max would therefore see their actual launch postponed by three to four weeks according to the sources of 9to5Macfor an estimated start of sales between October 6 and 13.
The other models might be distributed as early as September 22, a week following their presentation. And for good reason, the “classic” iPhone 15 Pro would simply not be equipped with this new periscope zoom (they would retain the current x3 zoom), while the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus would be “limited” with a new only two rear cameras: an ultra wide-angle module and a classic wide-angle sensor.
