In the 54th match of IPL 2023, Royal Challengers Bengaluru lost to Mumbai Indians. RCB tasted failure once once more in the season when the bowlers were once more poor.

Mumbai won with 21 balls to spare as all the bowlers in the Royal Challengers line showed no sting in conceding runs. Everyone who bowled in the RCB line-up had an economy above ten.

Sri Lankan super spinner Wanindu Hazaranka was the best among them. Suryakumar Yadav from one side and Nehal Vadera from the other side were playing the star alternately. Hazaranka conceded 53 runs in four overs.

Hazaranka gave Bengaluru fans hope by dismissing Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma in the very first over, but later the player gave up.

The star’s economy is 13.25. This is one of the worst bowling figures of the season.

So far in the season, the player has conceded 258 runs from eight matches and has taken nine wickets. The Lankan spinner bowls at an average of 28.66 and a strike rate of 19.33.

Hazaranka was the second highest wicket-taker in the last season. The player took 26 wickets in the season with four wickets and five wickets.

RCB retained Hazaranka for Rs 11 crore to ensure that this performance will be repeated this time as well. But Hazaranka might not even get three wickets following Pfeiffer left.

Fans say that the players acquired by other teams for less than this amount are performing better than Hazaranka.

Not only Hazaranka, but other bowlers of Royal Challengers too are better than each other in conceding runs. RCB’s biggest weakness of the season, with a great batting order, is undoubtedly the bowling unit.
