Senior voice actor Lu Xiong passed away last night. Lu Xiong has been in the industry for more than 40 years and is a veteran in the dubbing industry. As early as the 1980s, he started classes and taught apprentices to cultivate newcomers in the dubbing industry. Wang Zulan is Lu Xiong’s apprentice. Last year, he invited Lu Xiong to appear on the radio program “The Voice” and presented him with the “Hall of Voice Award” in recognition of his contributions to the dubbing industry over the years.
Zu Lan was very saddened by the death of her teacher, saying that since she received the news of her death in the morning, the unspeakable pain has not stopped. He said, “The relationship between Uncle Lu Xiong and Wang Zulan can be described as Bole and a thousand miles of horses. In my memory, Uncle Lu Xiong appeared when I was 17 years old. From 5:00 in middle school, he followed the hall-level Uncle Lu Xiong. Learning dubbing is the greatest blessing in my life. Master discovered my talents and recommended me to do radio dramas at RTHK. Then I had the opportunity to go to the radio station to do children’s programs, laying a solid foundation for doing children’s programs in the future. I read until I became the first Bole in the industry.”
Zu Lan pointed out that Lu Xiong is an honest and kind person, and he teaches his younger generation by example. In the dubbing industry, he is full of virtues and talents. Although he has reduced his work due to health reasons in recent years, he still often organizes charity activities to care for other patients and the elderly. He said, “Uncle Lu has worked hard, and his performances have won the hearts of the people. When I planned “The Sound of Good” earlier, I hoped to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Master and commend Master’s contribution to the entertainment industry. I am very grateful for his work.
