Fire broke out in Wan Chai! Today (December 1) at 3:47 in the morning, a unit on the 6th floor of Jinle Building, 275-277 Lockhart Road caught fire. Firefighters arrived at the scene and activated 1 hose and dispatched 2 teams of smoking caps to fight the fire, and set up a ladder to shoot water at the fire scene. During the incident, 13 residents evacuated by themselves, and 14 residents were taken away from the building by the firefighters. A female resident was unwell due to smoke inhalation. After being treated by ambulancemen, she did not need to be sent to the hospital.
Firefighters extinguished the fire at 4:55. An 80-year-old male resident was found in the unit where the fire started. He was sent to the hospital by ambulancemen and was certified dead. Later, a charred corpse of a 30-year-old male was found in the unit. The firefighters carried the body down the building and placed it on the sidewalk. The police covered the body with a tent. The firefighters are investigating the cause of the fire. According to the neighbors, the two deceased were father and son, who lived together in the unit where the fire broke out. According to sources at the scene, the scorched son had a sharp knife stuck in his chest, and the police are investigating the case.
