Walz and Vance to square off in their first debate! US Vice Presidential hopefuls, Democratic Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walzand Ohio Republican Sen. JD Vance have agreed to face off in a televised debate on Oct. 1.

This meeting will mark the first face-to-face meeting between the two candidates ahead of the presidential elections in November.

CBS, which is in charge of broadcasting the game, announced on Wednesday through the X platform that it had offered Walz and Vance four possible dates: September 17 and 24, and October 1 and 8.

“See you on October 1st, JD,” Walz wrote on X on Wednesday night. Shortly afterward, Harris’ campaign confirmed that she had accepted the network’s invitation for that day.

“The American people deserve as much debate as possible,” Vance said in a post on X.

Vice presidential debates are often an opportunity to reach out to voters and make proposals, but they traditionally attract less attention than presidential debates.

Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris and former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump have already agreed to a debate on September 10, according to ABC News, the network that will organize it. EFE
