Walton is 28 at the top of the International Chess Ranking

The ‘Walton International Rating Chess Competition-2023’ is under the auspices of Walton Hitech Industries Limited (PLC) and organized by Bangladesh Chess Federation. At the end of the second round of play in this competition, 28 players topped the points table with a full two points.

They are – Grand Master Ziaur Rahman, International Master Mohammad Minhaj Uddin, Candidate Master Manon Reza Neer, FIDE Master Mehdi Hasan Parag, FIDE Master Subrata Biswas, FIDE Master Khandkar Amunal Islam, Candidate Master Naeem Haque, Md. Zahid Chowdhury, Deen Mohammad, Candidate Master. Sharif Hossain, Fide Master Mohammad Javed, Md. Abu Hanif, Md. Sirajul Islam, Md. Sajidul Haque, Md. Shariatullah, Md. Masum Hossain, Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Tutul Dhar, Md. Sagar, Feroz Ahmed, Fide Master Md. Saif Uddin, Female Candidate Master Ahmed Waliza, Abdul Momin, Female Fide Master Noshin Anjum, Sangram Das, Siam Chowdhury, Rubel Hossain and Md. Nasir Uddin.

The second round game was held today Tuesday at the Bangladesh Chess Federation Sports Hall. Grand Master Zia AB, Bappi, Candidate Master Neer Riasat-e-Noor, International Master Minhaj Niloy Debnath, FIDE Master Parag Wadifa Ahmed, FIDE Master Subrata Sabubur Rahman, Candidate Master Naeem Wasia Khushbu, Zahid Fide Master Syed Mahfuzur in the second round. Rahman, Fide Master Amin Sabyasachi, Deen Candidate Master Md. Shaukat bin Osman defeated Shawn, Candidate Master Sharif defeated Tipu Sultan, Fide Master Javed defeated Ishrat Jahan Diwa, Hanif Rabiul Hossainek, Siraj defeated Candidate Master Jamal Uddin, Sajid Shahadat defeated Kibria Ayan.

Abdullah Al Raison drew with Fide Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia.

The third round will begin tomorrow, Wednesday (April 05) at 2:00 PM.
