“The impact of the most polluting vehicles on the air quality and health of Walloons remains at the heart of our concerns and is certainly not called into question. However, the current context of crisis invites us to review our timetable and to postpone the entry into force of the first traffic bans to 2025, rather than 2023. We cannot impose significant additional costs on citizens in the current context,” said justified Minister Tellier.
“This postponement to 2025 will allow us to consider compensatory measures adapted to the realities of the owners of the vehicles concerned. At the same time, contacts will be initiated with the major Walloon cities in order to encourage and support them in the implementation of targeted measures in favor of air quality for all citizens”, she said. added.
