Susanne Walli took 21st place in the semi-finals of the European Athletics Championships in Munich on a rainy Thursday evening over 200 m. The 26-year-old, who finished 20th on her special 400 m course, qualified for the semi-finals with pinpoint accuracy in 23.45 seconds over the half lap of the stadium at midday. In this, she left a few competitors behind on the unfavorable track one as 21st in 23.73 seconds.
“It was a bit difficult. I felt good, even when warming up, but then they left us out in the rain for a relatively long time,” said the 26-year-old, who was very happy with the straight, but not so much with the corner. “But overall I have to be satisfied, I made up a few places. I’m glad I did it. It was a valuable experience. I hope to be able to run the 200 m once more at one or the other major event.” On Friday, she is scheduled to compete in the 4 x 100 m relay.
