Wall Street stabilizes as focus shifts to Fed meeting

Wall Street’s main indexes were flat at the start of trading on Monday after volatile trading ended in April, with investors focused on the Federal Reserve’s meeting this week when interest rates are widely expected.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.28 points at the open to 32,978.49.
The Standard & Poor’s 500 index opened down 1.32 points, or 0.03 percent, to 4,130.61 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index fell 2.95 points, or 0.02 percent, to 12,331.69 points.
