The New York Stock Exchange was unable to convert its attempted rally on Thursday, ultimately finishing in the red as investors once once more focus on the path of Fed rates.
The indices had started higher but lost momentum in the middle of the session, with the Dow Jones ending down 0.73%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq fell 1.02% and the S&P 500 0.88%, according to preliminary results.
