Wall Street closes lower on the eve of the Fed meeting By Reuters

(Archyde.com) – Wall Street closed lower on Tuesday on the eve of a meeting of the Federal Reserve, which is expected to raise interest rates significantly.

According to preliminary data, the Standard & Poor’s 500 index fell 43.61 points, or 1.12 percent, to close at 3856.28 points, while the Nasdaq Composite Index lost 107.87 points, or 0.94 percent, to close at 11,427.15 points.

The industrial index also fell 306.89 points, or 0.99 percent, to 30,712.79 points.
