The Ausone tram bridge, rue Beyerman, will be exposed to bombs this weekend. Harmless spray paint bombs, whose mission will be to explode colors in the name of art and solidarity.

Launched this Friday at noon, the charity street art festival Wall of Breath will gain momentum on Saturday September 23 and Sunday September 24 in this sector of Bruges. For this fourth edition, the eponymous association renews its recipe: making an “artistic workshop” vibrate in the open air by giving carte blanche to renowned or emerging graffiti artists. On the program: Jo Di Bona, Reso, Dyva, Derf or even Pakone, Picor and others. So many artists allowed to give free rein to their creative spirit on more than 300 square meters of vertical sections. All in a place that is still underground, usually closed to the public, a stone’s throw from Ausone Park.

Workshops

The goal remains the same: “Make art to fight once morest cystic fibrosis. Hence our name: ”wall” because we paint on walls and ”breath” because that is what is missing in patients suffering from this disease, which progressively damages the lungs and the digestive system. , explains Guillaume Clément, president of the association.

Festival-goers will be welcomed from noon to 8 p.m. over both days. “The artists will paint live. There will be music, performances, graffiti battles. Workshops will allow children to get started. » Journalist Violaine Pondard will come and sign her book “Street art in New Aquitaine South”. There will be food available on site.

The profits collected will be entirely donated to medical research and patient support. Since 2017, Mur du souffle has managed to collect more than 8,500 euros thanks to its actions (festivals, sale of works, etc.).

A plastic arts teacher, Guillaume Clément has been working with graffiti artists for around fifteen years. “They were the ones who gave us the idea for the festival. Painting a fresco in the street means offering a work to the world. Accessibility is without filter,” he confides.
