Since June 19 and until July 9, the Sport-health network of the CROS Bourgogne Franche-Comté is setting up a challenge of connected steps.

Promoting health through physical activity. This is the objective of the CROS Bourgogne Franche-Comté Sport Health network. This summer, make way for a new project to get you moving. Since June 19 and until July 9, the “All on foot in Bourgogne Franche-Comté” challenge is in full swing. Objective: to walk and take as many steps as possible, on the Start’R mobile application, developed by the IRMBS (Research Institute for Well-being, Medicine and Sport-Health). The project is carried out in partnership with the Regional Health Agency, the MNT, and in connection with the IREPS BFC (Regional Authority for Education and Health Promotion).

Limit your sedentary time

Throughout the challenge, the idea is to make all profiles work. Individuals, companies, associations or communities are involved. A total of 500 walkers are currently registered. “The objective is really to be part of a sport-health process”, underlines Marie-Lise Thiollet, project manager. “When starting the challenge, a health and physical condition check-up is carried out. It is even possible to see a doctor for a more personalized examination. The idea is to promote walking and movement, so that everyone goes at their own pace in order to limit their sedentary time”. At the end of the day, prizes to be won. The first three from each of the eight departments will receive lots of sports equipment.

Prevention and action

On a daily basis, the Sport-health network of the CROS BFC is in action to move its territory. With sports on prescription, but also home activities for the elderly. “We are also moving more and more towards primary prevention, with the training of extracurricular facilitators or even interventions in companies. Since March, we have been participating in the anti-fall plan, because sport is the best weapon to fight once morest the loss of autonomy., adds Marie-Lise Thiollet. The Sport-Santé network will also have new projects for the start of the school year.
