the essentials The Rotary club of Carmaux is organizing a walk around the Roucarié lake on October 8, the profits will be used in the fight against Poliomyelitis.
On Sunday, October 8, come and walk at Lake Roucarié to put an end to polio. What is polio disease? Remember that poliomyelitis is a very contagious disease caused by a virus (poliovirus) which invades the nervous system and which can cause irreversible paralysis within a few hours.
Since the 1960s, this disease has been preventable thanks to effective vaccines. From 8:30 a.m., go to the Puech de la Joie room for a welcome coffee offered by the Carmaux Rotary Club.
Then, departure at 9 a.m. for a choice of three hikes (7, 9 and 12 km) around Lake Roucarié. At midday, after the walk, you can share a free aperitif and, upon reservation, enjoy a meal with an “Aveyron veal and truffade” menu.
The registration fee for the hike is €5, free for children under 12 years old. This sum will be donated to Rotary’s work to eradicate polio worldwide. For the meal, the registration fee is €15, €10 for children under 12 years old. To register, you can log in to colibris.link/mSXym
