Wales and Ukraine define the last European qualifier for the Qatar 2022 World Cup

At Cardiff City Stadium, the national teams Wales and Ukraine will play the final of the so-called Route A of the European Qualifiers, a duel equivalent to the last UEFA Repechage for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Wales, with Gareth Bale as a symbol, will seek to return to the planetary event after 64 yearsafter having his first and so far only participation in Sweden 1958where he added three draws and one defeat, against Brazil 1-0 in the quarterfinals.

The “dragons” fell in their last game 2-1 against Poland for the first date of the Nations League. In Qualifiers, they left Austria on the road for the same marker.

Ukraine for its part, will also go for its second presence in the World Cup, after Germany 2006. On that occasion, the team led by Andriy Shavchenko reached the quarterfinals, being eliminated by the future champion, Italy.

The “yellow and blue” campaign is marked by the war against Russia, keeping the team inactive for more than two months. Last Wednesday, Ukraine beat Scotland 3-1 to reach the final.

The duel between the Welsh and the Ukrainians, which will define the last European quota for Qatar, is scheduled for this Sunday, June 5, at 12:00 p.m. in Chile.
