The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) received from the Disciplinary Anti-Doping Committee (DAK) RUSADA the motivational part of the decision in the case of violation of anti-doping rules by figure skater Kamila Valieva. About it TASS reported in the press service of WADA and RUSADA.

“We received from the committee the full text of the decision in the figure skater’s case. We will need some time to study the document, following which we will decide on further actions, ”the RUSADA press service said.

“We have received the reasoning part of the decision in the Valieva case,” the WADA press service said in a statement.

WADA January 13 reportedthat the RUSADA disciplinary committee decided that although the athlete committed an anti-doping rule violation, she bears “no fault or negligence” for it. The Committee has not imposed any sanctions other than the disqualification of her results as of the date of sampling (December 25, 2021). On that day, she won gold at the Russian Championship, Valieva lost this medal, which will go to Alexandra Trusova.

The banned substance trimetazidine was found in the doping test of the athlete. The test result of the sample was made public only in February 2022 during the Beijing Olympic Games. Figure skater then has already won gold in a team tournament.

In WADA previously declared regarding the readiness to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) following receiving the full decision of RUSADA. RUSADA itself also allowed the possibility of an appeal.
