Now the convicted murder Jamaican dancehall star Vybz Kartel is released from prison.

Kartel and three co-defendants have been locked up since 2011, sentenced to life for murder.

Now released Vybz Kartel48, whose real name is Adidja Azim Palmer, after several years in prison, writes Fox 5 New York.

In March, the murder was overturned by a British court and now the artist and the three co-accused are fully acquitted by the Jamaican Court of Appeal, which considers that there is no reason for a new trial.

Over the years, the artist has repeatedly maintained his innocence and fought to have the sentence overturned.

Vybz Kartel was sentenced in 2014 with three other men to life imprisonment for the murder of Clive ”Lizard” Williams. The crime must have taken place in Cartels home in 2011, but the victim’s body has never been found.

“Inhuman conditions”

The artist’s defense lawyers have pointed out how bad conditions Kartel lived in during the years in prison. The dancehall star has been battling Graves’ disease and living in “inhumane conditions”, according to his lawyer.

Kartel has collaborated with, among others Jay-Z, Rihanna, Eminem and Pharrell Williams.
