VWN boss writes to 15,000 employees: Corona slows down the Bulli Regional

Hannover – At the beginning of the three-week vacation at VW Commercial Vehicles, CEO Carsten Intra wrote to the approximately 14,000 employees at the Stöcken site.

He thanked them for their commitment in the first half of the year – and promised them a “catch-up program” following the vacation.

“In the past few weeks we have felt with force that Corona is not over yet,” he writes. Many failures in the teams would have led to restrictions in production. “The bottom line is that we weren’t able to build as many cars by June as we had planned – and as our customers are asking us.”

The company did not give specific figures when asked by BILD. However, the production volume should be caught up following the holidays. “More than ever, the saying goes: Every car counts,” emphasizes Intra.

The campaign for the latest VWN model got off to a successful start: “With the ID.Buzz world premiere, we achieved such a large international media echo as for no other car before.”
