The PHEV drive consists of a 1.5-liter TSI gasoline engine with 85 kW (116 hp) and a lithium-ion battery with a usable capacity of 19.7 kilowatt hours (kWh). VW Commercial Vehicles specifies the system output as 110 kW (150 hp), the system torque is 350 Newton meters. According to the WLTP standard, the VW Caddy PHEV can travel up to 121 kilometers purely electrically on a single battery charge.

The part-time electric vehicle can be charged either on the wallbox (AC) with up to 11 kW or on the quick charger (DC) with up to 50 kW charging power.

The plug-in hybrid drive is available for both the Caddy with a normal wheelbase and with a long wheelbase (Maxi). The list prices start at 35,490 euros.
