Doha – With only 34 days left for the FIFA World Cup, the second security exercise will begin on the 23rd of this month to ensure the final security readiness. This time the training is for 5 days. The security training is under the patronage of Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, who is also the head of the FIFA World Cup Qatar Security Committee.
Vathan training is conducted by 11 ministries, security and military experts from 13 countries namely Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Spain, Palestine, US, Turkey and UK. The objective of Vathan exercise is to gauge the speed of response in emergency cases, activate command and control mechanism, ensure integrity of duties and proper execution of tasks, strengthen joint cooperation with military and civil authorities, and strengthen cooperation with fraternal and friendly forces participating in the World Cup.
This time it is comprehensive and different than the first Vathan exercise held in November 2021. This time more military and civil authorities and security and police forces of friendly and sister countries will participate.
FIFA Referee Cup from November 10
Doha: The FIFA Referee Cup will be held from November 10 to 26 at the Qatar Sports Club Stadium. 12 clubs are divided into 3 groups. This is part of the preparations of the referees selected for the FIFA World Cup. The Referee Cup is held in conjunction with the Referee Camp in collaboration between the Qatar Stars League and FIFA. This was announced by the Qatar Stars League.
