Vucic said he would not sign anything at a meeting with representatives of the EU and Kosovo

Moscow. 18th of March. INTERFAX.RU – The Serbian side does not intend to sign anything at a meeting with representatives of the EU and Kosovo, which will be held later on Saturday in the city of Ohrid (North Macedonia), President Aleksandar Vucic said ahead of the meeting.

“I will now tell you that I will not sign anything, and they (interlocutors) don’t care. Do you think they are happy? They are not happy, because they are happy only because of the failures of Serbia, and would be glad if I said something else. I want to talk regarding the normalization of relations. We can talk regarding this with each other,” the Serbian television and radio channel RTS quoted Vučić as saying.

It is expected that bilateral meetings between the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell and Vučić and the Prime Minister of the Kosovo government Albin Kurti will first take place in Ohrid on Saturday, and then a trilateral meeting will take place. Miroslav Lajcak, EU Special Representative for the Western Balkans, will also take part in the conversation.

Last Thursday, in a televised address timed to coincide with this meeting, Vučić said that he did not expect anything fateful from her.

The Serbian Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija, inhabited by an ethnic Albanian majority, unilaterally declared independence from Serbia in 2008 following a bloody conflict. Most Western countries recognized this step, but Belgrade continues to consider these lands an integral part of the Serbian state.
