Vučić called reports that Serbia sold weapons to Ukraine and Russia an outright lie

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said his country did not sell weapons to Ukraine or Russia. According to him, Serbian weapons can be sold to third countries only to states without international restrictions.

“This is an outright lie. Serbia has not sent weapons to anyone. Serbia manufactures and sells ammunition. We have many defense industry enterprises. When you produce ammunition, it will definitely end up in a conflict zone or crisis region. We have not sold a single piece of guns, weapons or ammunition to either Russia or Ukraine,” Alexander Vučić told reporters in Qatar (quoted from “RIA Novosti”).

“They say that we exported through Turkey. Knowing that there is a possibility that some of the products will be sent to either side of the conflict, we added that it is no longer possible to export the ammunition that was sold to Turkey,” he added.

This week Mash posted material, which claimed that ammunition from Serbia was supplied to Ukraine. According to the publication, first the weapons were sent to Turkey, then to Slovakia, and then to Ukraine. The transit was allegedly handled by the Turkish company Arca Savunma Sanayi Ticaret. The Russian Foreign Ministry asked Serbia to comment on the publication. The Serbian Ministry of Defense, the Serbian defense enterprise Krusik and the country’s Foreign Ministry denied this information.
