VPNÖ-Mandl: Johanna Mikl-Leitner remains the country’s top representative to the outside world

Labor Convention contains a clear commitment to the European Union

St. Polten (OTS) “It’s a good thing that Lower Austria’s foreign relations, the Europa Forum Wachau and the affairs of the European Union are a top priority and lie within the area of responsibility of Provincial Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner. In an insecure world with global crises, European cooperation is an important support and the only chance for a positive future. That is precisely why we will need all our strength in this area in the years to come. Governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner enjoys an excellent international reputation. Lower Austria is a particularly strong voice in the Europe of the Regions. It should stay that way,” emphasizes the Lower Austrian MEP Lukas Mandl, who explains:
“I had already assured myself before the weekend that the EU agendas would remain with the governor. Because that alone is important for my work in the parliamentary representation of our compatriots. The excitement in the media today surprised me all the more.”

The working agreement that has now been concluded in Lower Austria underlines the importance of the European level. “In addition to the many positive effects that we have achieved through Europe-wide cooperation in the past decades, financial aspects also speak for the high importance of the European level for Lower Austria: For every euro that we transfer to Brussels as a proportion of the Austrian membership fee, it is scarce 3 euros in funding back. We are part of the European Union. We participate constructively and benefit from it every day. This will remain the case in the years to come,” emphasizes Mandl in conclusion.
