Almost 6,000 subsidized housing units are currently under construction in Lower Austria
St. Polten (OTS) – “It speaks for the state of the new SPÖ leadership when Sven Hergovich criticizes a decision by the housing promotion advisory board, to which he himself belongs as a representative of his parliamentary group and as such supported the decisions 24 hours earlier. The fact is, there is no construction freeze in Lower Austria: there are currently almost 6,000 subsidized housing units in the construction phase. At least Hergovich was correct in his approval, because the promotion of redevelopment is an important means of promoting the town centers and once morest soil sealing. In addition, according to media reports, his comrades in Vienna have not decided to allocate subsidies for new buildings. In addition to the perspective in Lower Austria, the SPÖ NÖ apparently also lacks an overview of political decisions in the red federal capital and Hergovich’s hometown of Vienna. The issue of housing is too sensitive to change political change. The task of politics is to relieve people. The state of Lower Austria is doing this with the €85 million Lower Austria housing and heating subsidy, which over 360,000 compatriots have already applied for,” says Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, state councilor of the VPNÖ.
