Vienna People’s Party ready to abolish Vienna’s cost-of-living law with neos and the opposition
Vienna (OTS) – “City Councilor Hanke’s reply to the demands of City Councilor Wiederkehr in connection with the suspension of fee valorization shows one thing above all: the dispute between the two governing parties in Vienna is at the expense of the people of Vienna. Because instead of really relieving them, there is apparently only the public debate in focus,” said the provincial party chairman of the Vienna People’s Party, City Councilor Karl Mahrer, in view of City Councilor Hanke’s statements to the Kurier.
The past has shown that such advances by the neos at the SPÖ simply bounced off. The voting behavior in the municipal council has also shown that the neos have ultimately lacked the courage to push through issues that are unpleasant for the coalition climate. “As the Viennese people’s party, we will therefore convene a special state parliament following the summer, where we will shake hands with the neos to abolish the inflation law together with the opposition,” said club chairman Markus Wölbitsch. The people of Vienna finally need lasting relief, which the neos have repeatedly called for in political demands.
“What people need is a city government that takes care of their concerns and acts accordingly. So far, however, the SPÖ and neos have been miles away from that. We invite the neos to keep their promises together with the opposition – for a better Vienna,” he said Maher concludes.
