The “Viewpoint of the Year” and the “Tourist House of the Year” can be voted for again until October 2nd.
Anyone can take part on the “Active Adventurers” Facebook page. The aim of the competition is to encourage more people to visit Hungary’s exciting landscapes by bike or on foot. 20 excursion destinations are suggested in the two surveys. Nominations were submitted by enthusiastic hikers, who will also decide the eventual winner.
This year, the jury of experts selected ten from a record number of 91 viewing points and 63 tourist accommodations, which are now up for voting. The winner with the highest number of votes will be announced on October 3rd.
In 2020, the “János Xantus” viewpoint in Balatonboglár won, in 2021 the Bölömbika viewpoint on Lake Tisza won, in 2022 the “Zsófia” viewpoint in the Bükk Mountains received the most votes, last year the St. László lookout chapel in Mogyoród won honored. Among the huts, the Annafürdő guesthouse in Tolna was chosen in 2020, and a year later the legendary Szelcepuszta hut was chosen. The next winner was the Fehérkőláp Hut in Bükk in 2022, and in 2023 the “Ökotudatos Nevelési Központ” (Eco-Awareness Education Center) of Rostalló in the Zemplén Mountains was named the most popular tourist accommodation.
