As part of her trip to the Western Balkans, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is expected in Montenegro and Serbia on Tuesday. The program includes talks with the presidents of both countries. Von der Leyen wants to appear in front of the press with Serbian head of state Aleksandar Vucic in the followingnoon (around 2:30 p.m.).
On Monday, the head of the commission visited North Macedonia and Kosovo. There she presented a growth plan worth six billion euros for the region. In return, the EU expects further reform efforts from the countries of the Western Balkans. Von der Leyen also called for a settlement of tensions between Serbia and Kosovo.
