Volvic, Evian, Badoit, La Salvetat: why these mineral waters are disappearing from certain departments

A month and a half following the failure of trade negotiations on the price of water between the Intermarché group and the food giant Danone, the effects of the conflict are beginning to be felt. In Occitania, the empty shelves of Badoit, La Savetat, Volvic and Evian have given way to an explanatory sign.

“The Danone group has decided to no longer deliver its water to us because we refuse their 22% price increase”: the explanatory poster flourishes in the empty shelves of the Intermarché brand, at the usual location of water packs from Badoit, La Salvetat, Evian and Volvic.

The conflict, born of a commercial dispute at the end of August, was until now invisible to the general public, and reserved for the newspapers of the specialized press. Beverage section announces the information exclusively on August 25, alerted by “several members of Intermarché” who highlight “unjustified double-digit price increases”.
