As a reminder, at the end of June 2016, Cameroon, the Central African Republic and the UNHCR signed an agreement setting the legal framework for the voluntary return of Central African refugees settled in the first country mentioned. “The free and voluntary nature of the repatriation must be verified for all those involved in the operations that will be implemented. Those Central African refugees who do not feel ready to return to their country of origin will retain their refugee status and the protection of the Cameroonian authorities”.
