The current Golf was the first Volkswagen model to be equipped with the secure door opening system. The system works in the same way as on the ID.4 and ID.5 models. Like the Passat and Tiguan models built on the MQB modular transverse platform, the Golf is equipped with a mechanical door lock, which means that the additional function of delay on opening the doors is not available.
