Volkswagen is expanding the ID. Buzz” range: new base and top versions | Business

After the long-wheelbase, rear-wheel-drive “ID. Buzz” debut, five more new models will now debut on the market.

From now on, drivers will be able to choose long or short wheelbase all-wheel drive “ID. Buzz GTX” (with 79 kWh or 86 kWh useful battery), “ID. Buzz Cargo” version 4MOTION, which is also equipped with all-wheel drive for the first time. In addition, two new models of the basic level appear on the market – “ID. Buzz Pure” and “ID. Buzz Freestyle” (with new 59 kW battery).

Pre-trade “ID. Buzz GTX and ID. Buzz Cargo 4MOTION” models in Lithuania started this week. Prices for these iconic electric cars start at 53,480 euros. The new “ID. Buzz Pure” and “ID. Buzz Freestyle models will be available to order in the coming months.

New base versions

The new Pure and Freestyle models are powered by a 125 kW (170 hp) rear-mounted motor, which is powered by a 59 kWh battery for a range of up to 330 km (WLTP). These models can be charged with a maximum power of 165 kW at DC fast charging stations.

Five-seat “ID. The Buzz Freestyle is distinguished by black decals on the lower part of the doors, dark gloss bumpers and silver 18-inch wheels. Standard ID. An important new model in the range of electric commercial vehicles is the all-wheel drive “ID. Buzz Cargo 4MOTION”. The new “ID. Buzz Cargo 4MOTION is powered by two electric motors mounted on the front and rear axles with a total output of 250 kW (340 hp). Electric all-wheel drive has also increased the towing capabilities of this two-seater or three-seater. Compared to the 210 kW rear-wheel drive version, they have increased from 1,200 to 1,800 kilograms.

Two versions of the most powerful minibus

From now on, customers can also order the new ID Buzz GTX bus with exclusive exterior and interior equipment. This all-wheel drive flagship offers outstanding performance and high towing capacity. For the commercial sector, “ID. Buzz Cargo 4MOTION” and both adapted for private use “ID. The Buzz GTX versions are Volkswagen’s most powerful vans ever, powered by electric motors mounted on both axles.

Both GTX models are also distinguished by their special vigor. At maximum power, the ID. Buzz GTX” with 79 kWh battery up to 100 km/h. accelerates in 6.1 seconds, the long-wheelbase version with an 86 kWh battery in 6.5 seconds.

Another advantage of the new GTX models is the excellent traction provided by the all-wheel drive. Short wheelbase “ID. Buzz GTX’s maximum trailer weight is 1800 kg, long wheelbase version – 1600 kg. Thus, compared to the rear-wheel drive versions, the maximum possible trailer weight has increased by 800 kg and 600 kg, respectively. The four-wheel drive 4MOTION system provides a particularly great traction advantage when driving on wet or slippery road surfaces.

The exceptional power of these models is matched by their long range on a single charge. Based on WLTP standards, the short wheelbase version can travel up to 423 km, and the long wheelbase version can travel up to 475 kilometers.
