On Monday, the Presidency of the Iraqi Council of Representatives held a meeting in the presence of Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi and Vice-Presidents Mohsen Al-Mandalawi and Shakhwan Abdullah.

A statement by the media department of the Iraqi parliament stated; That “the work of the House of Representatives was discussed at this stage, and a package of draft laws, proposals and amendments was prepared in accordance with legislative procedures, and the laws completed by the parliamentary committees were included on the agenda in the upcoming sessions.”

In its new legislative term, the Iraqi parliament intends to legislate many important laws, including the general budget law for the year 2023, especially with the presence of more than 170 suspended laws in all parliamentary committees, most of which have been accumulated since the previous sessions of the parliament.

The issue of forming parliamentary committees is still unresolved, especially with the withdrawal of Sadrist representatives and their replacement, at a time when parliament is preparing to discuss important laws such as the budget.
