Mesopotamia Lions to the Golden Square
The teams of Iraq and Oman qualified for the semi-finals of the Arab Gulf Cup “Gulf 25” held in Basra, Iraq, on Wednesday, with the victory of the “host” over Yemen and Oman over Saudi Arabia.

In the first match, it took turns to score Iraq’s quintet: Mustafa Nazim (40), Amjad Atwan (64), Ayman Hussein (72 and 74) and Hussein Ali (89).

It is the second successive victory for Iraq following overcoming the Saudi national team in the second round with two clean goals, and before that it settled for one point from a goalless draw once morest Oman.

It is also the fourth victory for Iraq at the expense of Yemen in the history of their participation in the Gulf Cup tournaments, where they met four times and tied once.

In the second match, the Omani team defeated Saudi Arabia 2-1.

The Oman double carried the signature of Al-Mundhir Al-Alawi (34) and Har Al-Saadi (84), while the only Saudi goal was scored by Turki Al-Ammar in the 41st minute.
