Today, Thursday, Electricity Minister Ziyad Ali Fadel revealed a move to sign an agreement with Iran that guarantees energy stability, while specifying the reasons for fluctuations in supply in the country.
Fadel told the official agency, “Some investment stations depend on the quantities of gas imported from Iran at a rate of (6000-7000) megawatts, and they enhance the processing of electric power hours.”
He added, “Iraq is affected by the shortage of gas in Iran in the winter, and therefore the supply fluctuates at times,” stressing, “The Iraqi side has paid the full sums for the Iranian gas supply.”
And he revealed, “He visited Iran to meet the Minister of Energy and Oil there and put in place a clear agreement that guarantees Iraq the quantities of gas supplied at a stable rate to avoid fluctuations in the quantities of energy produced for the next summer season as a result of the presence of important stations in Baghdad whose production rate reaches (4500) megawatts that depend entirely on gas.” Iranian.”
He continued, “Iraq seeks to sign a clear agreement that guarantees the rights of both parties and gives stability in the flow of gas quantities, and thus stability in the supply of electric power.”
