The Iraqi national team was able to defeat the Qatari national team, 2-1, in the semi-finals of the 25th Gulf Championship, which is taking place in Basra.

With this result, the Iraqi national team reached the final match, to meet the winner of the Bahrain-Oman match, which will be held this evening at 8:15 at the Olympic Port Stadium, while the Qatar national team left the tournament following losing today.

The Iraqi team scored first in the 19th minute through Ibrahim Baish, and the Qatar team was able to adjust the score in the 29th minute through Omar Siraj, and in the 42nd minute the Iraqi team strengthened its result following scoring the second goal through Ayman Hussein, so the first half ended with the Iraqi team advancing with two goals to one. In the second half, the result remained the same until the referee whistled announcing the end of the match.

The match took place at the Basra International Stadium, which was completely filled and witnessed a remarkable public attendance of 65,000 spectators.
