On Saturday, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani, took several decisions regarding the work of the General Traffic Directorate, including terminating the contract with a company and suspending work with the “shake-up” examination.

Among the proposals that Al-Sudani directed to implement, “termination of the contract of the company contracting with the Police Martyrs Fund in the Traffic Directorate, from which an amount of (35,000) thirty-five thousand dinars is deducted in favor of a company upon completion of transactions, and the transfer of fees and imports of roads and bridges stipulated in Presidency Resolution No. ( 40) for the year 2015, which the Traffic Directorate deducts when registering vehicles or transferring their ownership to the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Municipalities and the Municipality of Baghdad in coordination with the Ministry of Finance in order to immediately start rehabilitating roads and bridges and develop some alternative ways to reduce traffic congestion, provided that there is no financial or legal impact on the state “.
Al-Sudani also decided, “To terminate (a contract or to wait) by doing a (shake) examination at the present time and to stop collecting the amount (30,000) thirty thousand dinars, provided that there is no financial or legal impact on the state, with the termination of the contract of the contracting company with the Ministry of the Interior, so what Examination and testing procedures for driving license applicants. The Traffic Directorate can provide staff and supplies from its resources to conduct examination and testing instead of collecting 30,000 dinars from the citizen.
Among the proposals also, “the Traffic Directorate tightens procedures on stations for the specified weight of load vehicles, as they affect the internal and external roads, and the strengthening of the Traffic Directorate’s cadres with civilian employees from the Ministry’s joints whose services have been converted from military to civilian, and the working hours are in the form of (morning) and (evening). )”.
Al-Sudani called for “taking advantage of the registration revenues and fines by the Traffic Directorate, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance, to cover the technical needs and requirements for daily work without interruption, on the pretext of not renewing the contract with the executing companies, and determining a percentage of the revenues to the Traffic Directorate within the 2023 budget, stressing “ending the phenomenon of those who are suspended.” In front of the traffic departments (finally), the withdrawal of forms and the promotion of transactions are by officers and employees of the Directorate within the department or site.
