voestalpine invests 70 million euros in the USA

The Metal Forming Division of the Linz-based steel and technology group voestalpine has signed new, long-term contracts for the North American market with two global truck manufacturers and is expanding production capacities at the existing locations in the US state of Indiana: 70 million euros will be invested and 110 new jobs will be created. On the one hand, a new hall will be built, and on the other hand, new equipment will be purchased. The group announced this in a press release on Monday.

The production capacity at the plant in Jeffersonville, where longitudinal members for trucks are manufactured, will be doubled to 80,000 tons. 15,000 square meters of production space will be added. Production is scheduled to start in 2026. “For many years, voestalpine has played a leading role in Europe in the manufacture of complex special tubes and profiles for the commercial vehicle sector. Now we are transferring our knowledge to the North American market,” says CEO Herbert Eibensteiner.

The Metal Forming Division is the competence center for profile, tube and precision strip steel products as well as ready-to-install system components. 11,600 employees are employed, headed by Carola Richter. Most recently, sales amounted to 3.4 billion euros.
