In the football regional league, UVB Vöcklamarkt continues to fight for relegation in the third division following the 3-0 defeat once morest Deutschlandsberg – outside the field, the club is regarding to make a real breakthrough: the Hausruckviertler are working on plans for a new training center – now there might be movement in the thing come. As the OÖN found out, the state of Upper Austria recently gave its commitment to support the project.
A retirement home is to be built at the current location of the green and yellow training facility from mid-2024 – which means that the race to find a new home has long since begun. This seems to have been found regarding a kilometer from the Black Crevice Stadium in Vöcklamarkt. The club has been standing still in this case for a long time, but Vöcklamarkt’s dream might now take shape. The green light from the State Sports Directorate was the first step, now all that is missing is for the project to be waved through by the municipal council. “We have had more than 200 children in the club for 30 years. The sustainability is there, which is why this infrastructure project would be more than sensible,” says Vöcklamarkt President Reinhard Köpl.
Those are the plans
A turf field, an artificial turf field, a small spectator stand, a club building, a fun court, volleyball courts and a playground are to be created under the title “Vöcklamarkt local recreation area”.
In addition, investments are also to be made in Vöcklamarkt’s homestead: the artificial turf pitch, which is already showing its age, is to be replaced by a natural turf. Köpl is optimistic: “We want to get so far with the planning that we can start construction work in late autumn 2023 or in spring 2024.” Hopefully in the regional league too: the team coached by Thomas Laganda is currently in twelfth place.
