Connecting Vietnamese people globally
Meritorious Artist Kim Tien shared, the idea of online voice training connecting Vietnamese people globally was formed before the Covid-19 pandemic. When I was struggling and didn’t know where to start, a fellow practitioner from the US texted her at 1am. “She wants to sing young music but has a heavy dialect and is short of breath, so she wants to be guided by me to improve her pronunciation,” she said.
According to Meritorious Artist Kim Tien, overseas Vietnamese call her online voice training program a trainer. “They go knocking on their own doors, they spread themselves to their loved ones. The husband brings his wife to enroll, the wife sends her husband to study,” she revealed.
From the music playground, the class also spread the love of Vietnamese to the second generation living abroad. “I always tell people to adjust their pronunciation, speak slowly, clearly, pause in the right places, then the children will find Vietnamese good, even foreigners will love listening to Vietnamese. Singing in Vietnamese too. I have no ambition to train opera stars or famous stars and singers. I train singers who are called community stars,” said Meritorious Artist Kim Tien.
After the pandemic was brought under control and Europe reopened, many practitioners traveled more than 800km to Germany to attend a Vietnamese festival held here, to see each other, hold hands. not through the screen anymore. “The class has brought everyone together. With such a connection, perhaps they will not know each other for the rest of their lives. Or like me, naturally I have more than 300 friends,” she said.
