The report indicates that the site asks for personal data as usual when registering, such as full name and CPF, so that it can “release” the necessary requirements for the person to continue purchasing. When continuing with the supposed purchase, the fake page asks the victim to generate a payment slip so that the “benefit” of the R$200 air ticket can be released.

This payment refers to “taxes, civil aviation inspection and contribution fees to sustainable Brazilian tourism”. Once clicked to generate the invoice, the website redirects to another portal still called Voa Brasil, where the deceived person needs to pay the amount in advance via Pix or credit card as the last part of the registration.

When making the payment, the money is sent to the scammer’s account and the victim is left at a loss. Additionally, the phishing site can also capture other sensitive information such as credit card number, security code, and password. This modality targets elderly people and students who want to travel at a more affordable price.

To protect yourself from this fraud, it is important not to click on unknown links or download apps that use the name of the Voa Brasil Program, as the initiative has not been launched and has no target date. If you are a victim, it is important to file a police report reporting the case.

Government takes a stand

Faced with this new scam that uses the name of the Voa Brasil Program, the federal government took a stance on the case, stating that it had not yet started registering this initiative. “We warn that the Federal Government and the Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) are not registering or requesting values for inclusion in the program.”, says the statement.

“If you receive a call, correspondence, text message on your cell phone or via social networks requesting a cash deposit to be included in Voa Brasil, we suggest that you report this practice through the user service channels.”
