VMI Security, an X-ray inspection technology company, has achieved an important milestone by receiving certification from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the United States transportation security agency, for its air cargo inspection equipment. This certification, considered one of the most important in the world in the aviation security sector, allows it to supply its equipment to airports, airlines and logistics companies globally.
The final tests for certification were conducted in partnership with Delta Airlines, a global airline in terms of number of aircraft, which transports around 160 million passengers annually. Operations took place in the cities of Atlanta and Ft. Lauderdale, where the equipment demonstrated good functioning, resulting in Delta recommending TSA qualification.
With this certification, VMI becomes one of the global leaders in the safety inspection segment. The company, which already supplies equipment to more than 110 countries, is now expanding its reach into the airline sector, where it will be able to serve airports, customs, ports, courts, stadiums and other critical infrastructure around the world.
For the executive director of VMI Security, Jonatas Leite, the TSA certification represents another step in the company’s growth trajectory, which records a continuous increase of more than 30% per year. “We hold more than 70% of the market share in Brazil and we want to maintain this pace of expansion over the next five years, with the aim of positioning ourselves among the three largest companies in the segment by 2030”, he highlights.
Among the clients that have recently purchased equipment from her are the Madison Square Garden stadium in New York, UK customs and Dole.
